AMP Capital has expanded its global listed real estate (GLRE) team with two newly created positions.
The investment manager has appointed Hong Kong-based Hideharu Ichii as its portfolio manager and analyst for the GLRE team, effective July 2.
Meanwhile, Anika Minocha will also join the company next month as its portfolio manager and analyst, based in Sydney.
AMP has been making changes to its GLRE team over the last year, Citywire Asia has learned.
James Maydew, head of GLRE said Ichii will bring valuable expertise in the allocation of capital within the Japanese market and, along with Minocha, who will provide an essential contribution to the broader GLRE team.
Ichii has over 18 years’ financial experience and an extensive background in the Japanese real estate market.
Prior to joining AMP, Ichii was the senior portfolio manager at APG Asset Management Asia for seven years, covering primarily Japan and Australia within the firm's listed real estate Asia Pacific team.
Before that, Ichii has also held portfolio management and research roles at CBRE Global Real Estate Securities and Taiyo Pacific Partners as well as corporate finance and equity sales roles at Nikko Securities.
Minocha, meanwhile, will join the company after completing various rotations on the AMP Capital graduate program including two stints within the GLRE team.
The company's spokesperson said Ichii will report to Jessica Koh, who is the head of Asian listed real estate based in Hong Kong, while Minocha will report to Sydney-based Maydew.
