BlackRock loses Apac equity manager

Christopher Hall, portfolio manager for BlackRock’s Asia Pacific equity income and Pacific equity portfolio, is set to leave the company to pursue other opportunities.

The company’s spokesperson told Citywire Asia that Hall’s last day of employment will be in mid-August.

Citywire AA-rated Alethea Leung and Oisin Crawley – co-portfolio managers of all the funds Chris managed – will continue as portfolio managers of those funds, the spokesperson said.

Hall managed the BGF Asia Pacific Equity Income fund, BlackRock Asia Pacific Equity Income fund, BGF Pacific Equity fund and BGF Asean Leaders fund.

Leung will step up to become the sole portfolio manager of BGF Asean Leaders Fund. Starting this month, she will also join Crawley as co-portfolio manager for the Asia Pacific Equity Income and Pacific Equity portfolios.

Hall joined BlackRock from Argo Investments in February 2015.
