BNP Paribas has appointed Vikas Jaidka as head of non-resident Indian (NRI) clients, to lead the NRI teams in Hong Kong and Singapore.
Jaidka succeeds Masroor Batin, who has been promoted to CEO of wealth management for the Middle East and Africa.
He joins from Citibank where he held senior positions and was responsible for establishing the bank’s NRI business across Asia Pacific as well as in the UK, the UAE and Africa.
Based in Singapore, Jaidka will report to Samir Bimal, head of Indian markets and will be responsible for further building BNP Paribas’ NRI franchise.
Wealth management Asia Pacific CEO Pierre Vrielinck said the NRI segment is a growth area for BNP Paribas in Asia.
‘With Vikas coming on board, and our strong foothold of serving ultra-high net worth clients in the region, we are well positioned to achieve our ambitious goals in this growth market,’ he added.
