Comgest has appointed Makoto Egami as a fund manager across its Japan-focused equity funds, Citywire Global has learned.
This is as well as working on the France-domiciled version of the fund, which is also managed by Kaye and Ward.
Egami joined Comgest as an analyst focused on Comgest in its Japan office in 2013. He has 15 years of experience in the investment world. Previously in his career, Egami had worked as a senior industry analyst at Google and also as a research analyst at Macquarie Group.
Sisowath had previously been named as a manager on Comgest Growth Japan fund between 2000 and 2005, and served as a portfolio manager across several equity strategies.
The Comgest Growth Japan fund has returned 119.6% in Japanese yen terms over the three years to the end of September 2015. This compares to a rise of 102.7% by its Citywire-assigned benchmark, the Topix TR, over the same period.
