Ex-Julius Baer banker joins wealth structuring firm

Samy Reeb, a senior banker for Julius Baer, has joined fiduciary services provider Alpadis Group in Hong Kong.

Reeb has been appointed as managing director of Alpadis Trust (HK) Limited, and will lead the trust and wealth planning segment of the Swiss group in Hong Kong.

Additionally, he will be responsible for helping the group expand into new markets and further its business development strategy.

Alpadis’ services include setting up and managing trusts as well as providing independent professional trustees and trust-related solutions, such as accounting, incorporating and managing the underlying companies.

Reeb joins from Julius Baer after six years, where his last held role was executive director for wealth planning.

He was responsible for developing the Swiss bank’s third-party relationships in Asia. This included due diligence, collaboration agreements and pricing negotiations with other service providers.

Reeb was also a global program lead for Julius Baer’s wealth planning digital platform, which connects relationship managers to wealth planning products and service providers.

In addition, he coordinated the integration of Bank of America Merrill Lynch’s trust business with Julius Baer after the Swiss bank acquired the unit in 2012.

Reeb has previously worked for Credit Suisse as a senior tax manager, where he was in-charge of international tax monitoring for private banking.

His past experiences also include JP Morgan, Credit Suisse and Ernst & Young.
