Formerly Citywire A-rated manager Frank Thormann has joined Schroders’ global equities team, the asset manager has announced.
Thormann was previously lead manager on several funds at Union Investment, including the €800 million UniFavorit: Aktien fund before announcing plans to leave earlier this year.
In his new capacity, Thormann will bring his 17 years of investment experience to sit within the global equities team under Alex Tedder. Thormann marks the latest in a series of hires undertaken by Tedder since joining as global equities head in 2014.
Commenting on the hire, Tedder said: ‘Frank is a strong investor with a proven track record founded on an intimate knowledge of the US equity market, a significant constituent of our global equity portfolios.
‘He is a genuine stock-picker with an investment approach that is entirely complementary to that of the team. He is a great addition to our existing capability.’
Thormann had worked for Union Investment since 2008, which included analyst and portfolio manager roles, as well as having previously held roles at American Century Investments in the US. Tedder also previously worked at American Century Investments.
