On the second day of our series on top sectors, we take a look at the funds within the Mixed Asset – Absolute Return Euro category that have benefited the most.

The analysis is based on global fund flows experienced by funds available for sale in Singapore and/or Hong Kong for the three months of August to October 2016.

All net inflows taken into account here are in US dollar terms.

3. Pioneer Funds Abs Return Multi-Strategy E EUR ND, Pioneer Investments

Managers: Davide Cataldo (A rated); Francesco Dall'Angelo (+ rated)

Net inflows: $208.19million

The third place in this category is Pioneer Funds Abs Return Multi-Strategy E EUR ND fund, run by Citywire A rated Davide Cataldo and + rated Francesco Dall'Angelo.

As of October 31, the fund’s top three asset classes were bond (68.9%), FX derivatives (54.3%) and credit derivatives (24.6%).

The fund seeks to achieve a positive return in all types of market conditions. It invests, directly or indirectly, in a broad range of securities from around the world, including emerging markets.

These investments may include government and corporate bonds of any maturity, equities, convertible bonds and money market securities.

The fund was launched in 2008 and is available for sale in Singapore via Luxembourg.

2. BNY Mellon Global Real Return A EUR, BNY Mellon

Managers: Aron Pataki

Net inflows: $667.99million

Aron Pataki’s BNY Mellon Global Real Return A EUR fund gets the second place in this sector.

As of September 30, the fund’s top three asset classes were government bonds (27.7%), North America equities (15.8%) and renewable energy – precious metals (13%).

The fund's objective is a total return in excess of a cash benchmark over an investment horizon of three to five years.

The fund invests in a wide range of asset classes, aiming to have a reasonably moderate risk exposure at any point in time.

Launched in 2010, the fund is domiciled in Ireland and registered for sale in Singapore.

Net inflows: $3,440.94 million

The first place of this category goes to Nordea 1 – Stable Return BP EUR fund, run by a team of managers including Asbjørn Trolle Hansen; Citywire A rated Claus Vorm and Kurt Kongsted. Those managers are from Nordea.

As of September 30, the fund’s top three asset classes were US equities (28.3%), US fixed interest (16.6%) and Danish fixed interest (13.9%).

This fund aims to preserve the shareholder's capital and provide a stable, positive return to the shareholder in excess of a three months' European interest rate.

Launched in 2005, the fund is domiciled in Luxembourg and available for sale in Singapore.
