GLG Partners has hired Japanese equity specialist Adrian Edwards to strengthen the team overseeing its blockbuster Japan CoreAlpha Equity funds.
Edwards joins the London-based group from Stratton Street Capital, where he had worked across Japan equity fund strategies.
He will report to Citywire A-rated manager and head of Japanese equities Stephen Harker (pictured).
A spokesperson for GLG told Citywire Global that the addition of Adrian Edwards would not impact the roles of the existing managers, who will continue to operate as they have done since the fund’s launch.
The GLG Japan CoreAlpha Equity D JPY fund has returned 56.3% in yen terms over the three years to the end of June 2014. The Topix index rose 58.8% over the same period.
