PIMCO has hired hedge fund industry veteran Geraldine Sundstrom as a portfolio manager and senior member within its asset allocation team.
Previously a partner at hedge fund firm Brevan Howard where she led the $2.7 billion Emerging Markets Strategies Master fund, Sundstrom is set to join the US group in Q1 of 2015 following a period of leave.
In her new capacity, Sundstrom will be based in the asset management firm’s London office and report to deputy chief investment officer Mihir Worah.
It has not been revealed whether Sundstrom, while being named as a portfolio manager, has been earmarked to run any funds at present.
PIMCO’s multi-asset team has undergone several changes both prior to and in the wake of the high profile exit of former CEO and co-CIO Mohamed El-Erian.
These included Saumil Parikh stepping down from his co-manager role on the Global Multi-Asset fund in November of last year, while Worah was named as a direct replacement for El-Erian in February 2014.
