JPM Asset Management has launched a research-driven emerging markets equity fund, Citywire Selector can reveal.
The new fund is set to sit alongside the existing suite of Global, US and European research enhanced index (REI) strategies.
The JPM Global EM Research Enhanced Index Equity fund was launched on October 13 and is domiciled in Luxembourg.
It will be run by Anuj Arora, who currently runs several funds at JPM including the JPM Emerging Markets Opportunities fund, and Lina Nassar, who is currently a product analyst covering GEM core strategies within emerging markets and the Asia-Pacific, for the firm.
The fund leverages the expertise of a network of fundamental research analysts located in Hong Kong, London, New York, Singapore, Taipei, and Seoul.
This will include over 40 analysts providing in-depth investment insights on more than 800 emerging market stocks.
Commenting on the launch, a spokesperson for JPM said: 'The fund will aim to deliver positive excess returns at low active risk and can be viewed as a core building block within portfolio asset allocation.
'The long-term excess performance of REI strategies is attributable to the ability of our fundamental research analysts to deliver in-depth, stock-specific investment insights.
'As well as the portfolio managers who manage portfolios maximizing exposure to our analysts’ insights, while keeping a benchmark-like skeleton.'
This latest announcement follows the launch of the new JPM Global Income Conservative fund, which is set to follow in the footsteps of the €16 billion Global Income fund which is currently managed by Citywire + rated Michael Schoenhaut, Talib Sheik, and Eric Bernbaum.
