Lombard Odier Investment Managers has added EM debt specialist Holger Friedrich and rates manager Ron Raychaudhuri to its growing bond unit.
This marks the latest senior hire for the combined global and emerging market bond team following the addition of former Ignis Asset Management rates specialist Grant Peterkin last month.
It is understood both Friedrich and Raychaudhuri have joined Lombard Investment Managers, known as LOIM, in the Swiss firm’s London offices.
Both of the fund managers will work alongside recent hire Peterkin as well as head of rates and tactical asset allocation Gregor MacIntosh on a host of bond portfolios.
These will include: LO Funds – EM Local Currency Bond fund; LO Funds – Emerging Market Bond Fundamental; LO Funds – Euro Inflation-Linked Fundamental; LO Funds – Global Government Fundamental; and the LO Funds – Government Bond fund.
In addition to these strategies, Friedrich, formerly of London-based EMD boutique EM Quest Capital, will also have a portfolio manager role on the LO Funds – Euro Government Fundamental fund and the LO Funds II – Total Return Bond fund.
Prior to joining LOIM, former Citywire AA-rated manager Friedrich had served as a manager on a number of emerging market debt mandates from Sydinvest. He had co-run these funds with Phillip Blackwood, previously a Citywire Star Manager subject, and Thomas Brund.
Meanwhile, Raychaudhuri is another former Ignis manager added to LOIM team, having previously worked alongside Peterkin on the €835 million Ignis Absolute Return Government Bond fund.
Lombard Odier Investment Managers opted to combine its global and emerging market bond teams into one department in February of this year.
