The Mixed Assets - Balanced EUR sector raked in net new money of $909.9 million in October, about one third more than the previous month ($693.6 million).

Net inflows into the sector were largely driven (88.0%) by the JPM Global Income A Div EUR fund.

The fund has been seeing straight months of subscriptions since December last year and has amassed $6.4 billion in net new assets during these 11 months. As of end October 2017, the fund had assets under management of $26.3 billion.

About two-thirds of funds (64.2%) in the emerging markets global hard currency bond sector saw net inflows in October 2017, with each fund averaging subscriptions of $21.5 million.

Since January this year, the Amundi global emerging blended bond fund has seen 10 straight months of net subscriptions with year-to-date inflows amounting to $1.6 billion.

Over the last 12 months to October 2017, the fund returned 10.3% on an absolute basis, 3.8 percentage points above the sector's average of 6.5%.

In October 2017, the Alternative UCITS- Fund of Funds sector reported its highest net inflow in 12 months. The sector has enjoyed net subscriptions since October 2016 and gathered total net new assets of $2.9 billion during this period.

As part of Morgan Stanley Invesment Management's effort to rationalise their asset allocation fund offering, the Morgan Stanley Diversified Alpha Plus Fund was merged into the Morgan Stanley Global Balanced Risk Control fund on 13 October 2017.

The fund which is co-managed by AA-rated managers Andrew Harmstone and Manfred Hui, had €5.1 billion ($6.1 billion) as of 31 Oct 2017.

In October, net subscriptions in this sector was driven by BGF Euro short duration bond fund which secured net new assets of $836.1 million, 5.4 times the previous month ($155.5 million).

On average, each fund in the sector drew in $159.6 million during the month.

PIMCO GIS Income fund continued to top the chart in October with net inflows of $4.8 billion. Year-to-date, the fund has amassed $39.0 billion in net new money.

Investment flows into the BGF Fixed Income global opportunities fund have also been gaining momentum.

The fund attracted net subscriptions of $821.6 million in October, a four-fold increase from the previous month ($201.8 million).
