Credit Suisse Private Banking Asia Pacific has named Christian Senn as market group head Philippines. Senn was previously market group head Thailand and launched the firm’s onshore wealth management business in 2016. He took a six-month leave of absence on January 1, 2017, handing over the role to Urs Grueter. He reports to Benjamin Cavalli, head of private banking Southeast Asia.
DBS Private Bank has created a new role of head of portfolio counselling and product strategy, which has been filled by John Ng, who joins from Bank of Singapore. He will work with investment counsellors in the wealth management group to develop and institutionalised approach to portfolio recommendation, construction and review.
Hong Kong-based Value Partners has lost members from the China business and robo-advisory teams. Voon San Lai and Albert Teoh were both managing directors.
Meanwhile, M&G Real Estate Asia has made three appointments. Tenshin Ito joins as head of Japan whilst Richard van den Berg and Robert Walker join as fund manager and non-executive director of M&G’s core Asia property strategy respectively.
Man AHL, a quantitative investment manager part of Man Group, has rejigged its senior management team with a number of internal promotions. Antoine Forterre and Matthew Sargaison have been appointed co-CEOs. They will continue to report to Sandy Rattray, Man Group’s Chief Investment Officer (CIO) and former CEO of Man AHL. Nick Granger has been appointed CIO, Russell Korgaonkar has been named director of investment strategies and Kate Straker is now COO.
