Swiss asset manager RAM Active Investments has appointed boutique group Nexus Investment Advisors to oversee its Asian bonds total return fund.
The Geneva-based group moved the mandate to the Asian investment firm to keep the strategy with the existing fund management team, Richard Yang and Carl Wong.
Yang and Wong had previously been lead managers on the Luxembourg-domiciled fund while with their previous employer Samena Capital. The Hong Kong-based pair left the group in the summer of 2014.
In order to place emphasis on the fund’s investment style, RAM has decided to rename the fund RAM Asia Bond Total Return, while it was previously known as Samena (Lux) Global Funds – Credit Opportunities fund.
Commenting on the change, Citywire + rated Thomas de Saint-Seine, CEO of RAM Active Investments said: ‘After three years of successful collaboration with Richard and Carl, we now look forward to continuing working with them at Nexus, which is a very dynamic and entrepreneurial firm, housed with talented and experienced investment professionals.’
Richard Yang, manager of the RAM Asia Bond Total Return fund, added: ‘We appreciate RAM’s support over the past three years and we are pleased to continue managing the RAM Asia Bond Total Return Fund on the Nexus platform.'
The decision to move the mandate to Nexus follows a busy period for RAM Active Investments, which earlier this month hired Olivier Mulin as a portfolio manager to strengthen its convertible bonds team.
