Robeco Group has made a senior appointment in its research team, effective November 5.
Jie Lu, formerly a portfolio manager at Norges Bank Investment Management from 2011 to 2015, has joined Robeco as head of research China.
He will spend his first six months in Hong Kong for the new role before moving to Shanghai. The AM house plans to set up a wholly foreign owned enterprise in the Shanghai Free Trade Zone, for which it has applied a licence.
Lu will lead a team of analysts to establish Robeco’s research capability in mainland China.
Besides being the head of research China, Lu is also a member of the Asia Pacific investment team at the group.
Prior to serving as a portfolio manager, Lu had a two-year stint at Norges Bank IM as an analyst in Hong Kong from 2009 to 2011. Before that, he worked at the M&A department of Morgan Stanley Asia.
Robeco had around $245 billion (€225 billion) assets under management as of September 30.
