Schroders has appointed Abdallah Guezour as head of emerging market debt absolute return and commodities group, effective next January.
Guezour is currently the head of emerging market debt absolute return and manages the Schroder ISF Emerging Markets Debt Absolute Return fund.
He will replace Geoff Blanning, who will be retiring next April, after spending two decades with the firm.
Furthermore, to ensure continuity, Schroders said Mark Lacey, who has been working closely with Blanning over the past three years as a fund manager, will take over the leadership of the commodities team from January 2018.
Commenting on the appointments, Nicky Richards, global head of equities said: ‘The appointments of Abdallah Guezour and Mark Lacey will give our clients absolute investment continuity.'
As of 30 September, Schroders had $577.3 billion assets under management.
