10. Columbia Threadneedle Asian equities head to retire

Citywire + rated Vanessa Donegan is set to leave Columbia Threadneedle Investments after 32 years. Donegan, who heads the Asian equities team, will be transitioning her portfolios over the next few months.

9. Indosuez WM makes six new hires

Indosuez Wealth Management has further boosted its presence in Singapore and Hong Kong with six new relationship managers.

The French wealth manager has been growing its presence in Asia, and the acquisition of Credit Industriel et Commercial’s (CIC) private wealth businesses in Singapore and Hong Kong last year increased the the number of Indosuez bankers in the region to 130. Read more

Carret Private, a Hong Kong-based multi-family office, hired two private bankers from EFG Bank in July.

4. Ex-Safra Sarasin SG chief joins HSBC PB

HSBC Private Banking appointed Benedikt Maissen as its new market head for Indonesia based in Singapore last month.

Maissen joined from J. Safra Sarasin where he was previously the Singapore chief executive for about 2.5 years. The executive left the Swiss private bank in January. Read more

 3. Credit Suisse, StanChart PB appoint new business heads

Credit Suisse and Standard Chartered announced senior appointments in July.

Credit Suisse hired Michael Marr as a new private banking head for Australia, while rival Standard Chartered Private Bank appointed Stephen Atkinson as its new regional head for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA).

Marr used to be the market leader for Credit Suisse Private Banking Australia, where he supervised the relationship management teams in Sydney and Melbourne. Read more

2. Ex-DBS PB desk head joins wealth tech firm

DBS Private Bank’s former senior director leading the external asset manager desk has joined Contineo, a Hong Kong-based wealth technology company, as chief executive.

Antoine de Charnacé replaced Mark Munoz, who after three years of leading Contineo from an early-stage start-up to a revenue generating business, stepped down to focus on other business opportunities. Read more

UBS named Errie Maksum as desk head for its Southeast Asian wealth management team based in Singapore this July.

Responsible for the Indonesian market, Maksum joins from Bank of Singapore, where he was named market head for Indonesia following the acquisition of Barclays’ Asian wealth and investment management operations in 2016. Read more
