Investec Asset Management has announced the launch of three funds focused on emerging market, global and Asian investments, Citywire Global can exclusively reveal.
Peter Eerdmans (pictured), who has been previously Citywire A-rated and manages a number of emerging market strategies, will manage the new Investec GSF Asia Local Currency Bond fund with Wilfred Wee.
The fund will invest in both sovereign and corporate bonds in local currency from across the Asia region. It will typically invest in shorter interest rate duration risk compared to developed market bonds.
Its second new launch, the Investec GSF Global Diversified Growth fund, will replicate the strategy of the UK-domiciled Investec Diversified Growth fund.
It will be managed by Philip Saunders and Michael Spinks, the firm's co-heads of multi-asset.
The existing Investec Diversified Growth fund can invest in a variety of asset classes including global equities, fixed interest instruments, cash, commodities, property and alternative assets.
The launch of a Ucits-version of the existing UK fund follows the news in May this year that the firm was also in the process of setting up John Stopford’s UK-domiciled Investec Diversified Income fund as a Luxembourg-registered vehicle.
The fund will invest without benchmark in emerging market fixed income with a focus on local currencies.
The funds will be domiciled in Luxembourg and registered in a further 22 countries.
