Citywire A-rated manager Vincent Lagger has left Swiss & Global Asset Management, Citywire Global has learned.
Lagger, who has been with the Zurich-based group for nearly a decade, relinquishes his role on the $60 million Julius Baer EF Asia Focus fund.
This means the emerging Asia equity fund is now the sole responsibility of fellow Citywire A-rated manager Jian Shi Cortesi.
Lagger had previously been the lead manager on the Julius Baer EF Chindonesia fund before this was rolled into the Asia Focus fund amid a series of fund changes at the Swiss group in October of last year.
Commenting on the change, a spokesperson for Swiss & Global AM said: ‘Jian Shi Cortesi, co-manager of the JB Asia Focus fund since inception in September 2010, has taken over sole responsibility for the fund.’
‘The fund’s investment strategy remains unchanged; it is focused on bottom-up stock picks in Asian equities suitable to generate growth at attractive valuations.’
Lagger joined Swiss & Global Asset Management in January 2005 having previously worked for JP Morgan as an analyst and equity derivatives expert.
The Julius Baer EF Asia Focus fund returned 37.4% in US dollar terms over the three years to the end of September 2014, compared to a return of 35.4% by the benchmark over the same period.
