French banking giant BNP Paribas Wealth Management has appointed a new head of wealth planning services for Asia.
Based in Hong Kong, Teddy Chu joins from Standard Chartered Bank where he was regional head of trust and fiduciary services.
Before that, he held senior roles at Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank and HSBC, leading a team of wealth planners in providing wealth structuring and inheritance planning advice to high and ultra-high net worth clients.
In his new role at BNP Paribas, Chu will report to Garth Bregman, who is the head of investment services for Asia Pacific.
He will supervise the bank's dedicated wealth planning services (WPS) teams in Hong Kong and Singapore, as well as oversee the provision of WPS across the Asia Pacific region.
Commenting on the appointment, Bregman said: “Wealth planning services is one of our anchor offerings for ultra-high net worth clients. Teddy’s combined depth of experience and broad exposure to products and markets will be an invaluable asset as we continue to position ourselves to respond to fast-expanding Asian markets.’
