Citi Private Bank has appointed Jørgen Christensen as global market manager for the Philippines, effective immediately.
Based in Singapore, Christensen will report to Jyrki Rauhio, the private bank’s South Asia head.
He will be responsible for growing Citi’s Filipino business, as well as deepening existing client relationships in the country.
Christensen joined Citi in 1999 and was most recently team head for the Philippines. Prior to that, he worked with JP Morgan and Merrill Lynch in Singapore.
Commenting on the appointment, Rauhio said, ‘The Philippines is a crucial growth market for Citi Private Bank’s South Asia business and we are delighted to have Jørgen lead our efforts in this market.
‘With his proven track record and wealth of experience, I am confident Jørgen will successfully drive the development of our business in the Philippines as we continue to expand our presence in strategic markets.’
In February, Citi appointed Adam Proctor as global market manager for Singapore, Australia and New Zealand.
Two months later in April, the bank named Simon Kastono as global market manager for Indonesia and Timothy Morse as global market manager for Thailand, Malaysia and Brunei.
