Citywire + rated Vanessa Donegan is set to leave Columbia Threadneedle Investments after 32 years.
Donegan, who heads the Asian equities team, will be transitioning her portfolios over the next few months.
In January, Columbia Threadneedle brought together its regional Asian equities teams as an eight-strong global capability, led by Singapore-based Soo Nam Ng.
Following that, the long-running Threadneedle Asia fund will now be co-managed by Ng in Singapore and Citywire + rated George Gosden in London.
Meanwhile, the Threadneedle China Opportunities fund will be lead managed by Jin Xu, with Ng as deputy manager.
These changes are effective from 1 October.
Ng will also continue to be lead manager of the Threadneedle Asia Contrarian Equity fund, which he manages alongside co-lead manager Citywire A-rated Christine Seng. Both Ng and Seng have managed the fund since its inception in May 2014.
Ng, who joined Columbia Threadneedle in 2013, has over 20 years’ of experience in managing Asian equities.
Prior to joining Columbia Threadneedle, Ng was the chief investment officer at Nikko Asset Management for six years.
As of end-May, the Asian equities team at Columbia Threadneedle manages over $2 billion in Asian equites.
