Exclusive: Julius Baer poaches from StanChart

Lionel Poh, a former investment advisor at Standard Chartered Private Bank, has joined Julius Baer, Citywire Asia has learnt.

This will be Poh’s second stint at Julius Baer. He was previously director of the funds advisory team for nearly five years before moving to Standard Chartered in 2015 to cover Malaysia, Thailand, and the Philippines.

Prior to joining Julius Baer in 2010, Poh was a fund analyst at BNP Paribas where he supported due diligence and analysis on mutual funds, fund of hedge funds and private equity funds.

In his new role as relationship manager, Poh will cover the Swiss private bank’s Southeast Asian markets.

As of November 2017, Julius Baer had a team of 420 employees, including 170 relationship managers, servicing Southeast Asian clients from its Singapore office.
