HSBC Private Banking has hired Cynthia Lee as head of private wealth solutions for North Asia.
Lee joins from JP Morgan Private Bank, where she was most recently managing director and head of wealth advisory for Asia.
She has over 20 years of experience in wealth advisory and trust planning, with a focus on private clients and families.
At HSBC, Lee will be responsible for supporting the group’s clients in their trust and estate planning, family governance, philanthropy and succession needs.
Based in Hong Kong, she will report to Alan Beattie, global head of private wealth solutions.
Lee takes over from Brent York, who has been appointed global chief operating officer for HSBC’s private wealth solutions division. He is expected to deliver a new global strategy for the bank’s operations.
‘Our intention is to grow our trustee business and related services in Asia, the UK, Europe, the Middle East and the United States,’ said Beattie.
HSBC is aiming to significantly expand its Asian private banking business, including private wealth solutions, with 700 hires over the next five years.
