London-headquartered independent asset manager (IAM) Crossbridge Capital has signed a partnership with Chartwell Associates for the latter’s clients in Southeast Asia, including access to Crossbridge’s digital advisory platform CONNECT.

The deal will give Chartwell clients access to funds and investment products across equities, funds, fixed income, ETFs and foreign exchange. The Singapore-based financial planning company services expatriates and high-net worth Singaporeans.

CONNECT was launched by the $3 billion asset manager last year in a bid to capture high-net worth wealth in Singapore.

According to the terms of the deal, CONNECT will provide Chartwell clients access to listed securities as well as actively managed certificates with exposure up to 12 asset classes for a minimum investment amount of $50,000.

Chartwell will also be able to analyse and monitor client accounts, provide research and generate client statements on CONNECT.

Crossbridge will advise clients of Chartwell on trades when necessary. In addition, it will provide back office functions and custodian and clearing facilities to Chartwell’s clients.

In Singapore, assets will be held in custody with Pershing and booked under Crossbridge.

‘This is hopefully the first of many such deals,’ Charlie O’Flaherty, partner and head of digital strategy & distribution at Crossbridge Capital told Citywire Asia. ‘We are currently in talks with other firms in Southeast Asia.’
