Jupiter Asset Management has appointed a credit analyst in the fixed income team, bringing its credit research team to a total of seven.
Leon Wei joins from Singapore-based investment firm Temasek, where he was an associate director responsible for credit analysis on high yield bonds and leveraged loans.
Prior to that, Wei was with JPMorgan Chase & Co as a credit risk analyst before progressing to associate focused on debt restructuring.
At Jupiter, he will focus largely on developed markets across a range of different sectors.
Working closely with Citywire + rated fund manager Ariel Bezalel, Wei will contribute ideas primarily to Jupiter’s unconstrained bond strategy.
Commenting on the hire, Bezalel said: ‘Against a challenging backdrop of heightened volatility, Leon’s arrival will support me and our already robust credit research team in not only seeking out fresh investment ideas but keeping a firm grasp on underlying risk too. I have no doubt he will be a valuable addition to the team.’
