Schroders has hired a new fixed income fund manager based in Hong Kong.
Edward Young has joined from HSBC Asset Management, where he was a portfolio manager within the discretionary portfolio management team and responsible for emerging market (EM) debt and US credit.
In the newly created role, reporting to Angus Hui, head of Asian and EM credit, Young will further strengthen Schroders’ capability in credit investing.
What's more, he will deepen the Asian fixed income team’s coverage of Asia and the wider EM credit universe.
Commenting on the new hire, Hui said: ‘Credit is a wide-ranging area, and detailed analysis is required to make sure each investment opportunity stacks up.
'Edward’s experience in Asian and EM debt markets makes him a valuable addition to our existing capability in credit investing, which was developed upon our solid team of research and investment experts in the Asian corporate universe,' he added.
This hire follows the appointment of Shanghai-based Kun Shan to the newly created role of fund manager for Asian fixed income, in July.
