Old Mutual Global Investors (OMGI)’s managing director for Asia, Carol Wong, is set to leave the company after four and half years.
Warren Tonkinson, the company’s London-based managing director confirms that Wong will leave the business in July to explore external opportunities.
Wong joined OMGI as its Hong Kong-based managing director for Asia in November 2013. She is responsible for the development of OMGI’s brand presence in Asia
When asked if OMGI has found a replacement for Wong, the company’s spokesperson told Citywire Asia: ‘OMGI is planning on adding to our team in the region, although these roles are not yet defined.’
In April, OMGI transferred the management of its two Asia equity funds that were managed by the Asian equities team in Hong Kong to its global equities desk that is headed by Citywire AA-rated Ian Heslop.
Josh Crabb, the company’s Asian equities team head, and the rest of Asian equities team left the Hong Kong business in May.
