Standard Chartered Private Bank has appointed a new CIO for wealth management, according to an internal memo seen by Citywire Asia.
Based in Singapore, Steve Brice started his new position in January. He is also the head of discretionary portfolio management unit.
The 25-year company veteran was most recently StanChart’s chief investment strategist for 10 years. He joined bank in 1998 as a G7 economist and subsequently became a chief economist covering Southeast Asia.
Brice also headed the consumer bank research unit for a brief period, before becoming head of research for Middle East, North Africa and South Asia. As a global markets head, Brice has covered the Southern Africa market as well.
In his new role, he leads a team of more than 25 investment professionals, plus chairs the StanChart’s global investment committee.
