UBS has named Errie Maksum as desk head for its Southeast Asian wealth management team based in Singapore.
Responsible for the Indonesian market, Maksum joins from Bank of Singapore, where he was named market head for Indonesia, following the acquisition of Barclays’ Asian wealth and investment management operations in 2016.
Prior to that, he was Indonesia market head and managing director at Barclays Wealth Management since 2010.
Maksum was previously a senior private banker at Citi before becoming a team leader at Credit Suisse, leading a team covering the Indonesia market in Singapore.
The banker started his career in the audit division at Standard Chartered Bank, before transitioning to credit risk and eventually becoming a private banker.
At UBS, Maksum will report to managing director Yang Vi Sun, market head for Indonesia’s high net worth segment.
UBS recently hired Connie Ong as market head, Malaysia from Bank of Singapore, replacing Henk de Glint, who remains in the team as senior advisor.
